Diamonds guide

Our diamonds shine brighter for you because we handcraft all of our jewelry with diamonds in-house. This allows us to implement the highest quality in meticulous detail work without fearing quality problems due to the involvement of third parties. Each diamond is unique and expresses individual characteristics.
The quality of a diamond depends on 4 Cs - carat, clarity, color and cut.

THE 4 C'S

CLARITY (PURITY)

Loupe-clean or internally loupe-clean is the highest degree of purity at which no flaws are recognizable even under 10x magnification; there may only be small flaws on the surface

A purity grade of 1 or 2 (VVS1 or VVS2) has extremely small inclusions that are difficult to detect even for an expert under 10x magnification.

With a VS1 or VS2 classification, only minor inclusions are present.

SI1 or SI2 diamonds have visible flaws that can be seen under 10x magnification.

I1, I2 or I3 diamonds show clear inclusions under 10x magnification, some of which can even be seen with the naked eye.

THE 4 C'S

CARAT (KARAT)

The carat defines the weight of the diamond and is the most common distinguishing feature.

One carat weighs approximately 200 milligrams. You can also rate the weight of a diamond in points, with 100 points equaling one carat.

There is a direct correlation between the price and the carat weight of a diamond. With this in mind, a 1 carat diamond would sell for a higher price compared to two 0.5 carat diamonds.

THE 4 C'S

COLOUR

According to the Gemmological Institute of America (GIA), the color of a diamond is classified from D (completely colorless) to Z (strongly colored).

The ideal and therefore most expensive diamond is completely colorless. Sometimes lightly colored diamonds appear white to the naked eye, but they actually have slight yellow tones.

THE 4 C'S

CUT (SCHLIFF)

The cut of a diamond refers to the proportions, workmanship, symmetry and brilliance of the stone. The better the cut, the more radiant and sparkling the diamond. Our diamonds in the Fine & Bridal line are always SI2 clarity and at least color H. However, we are happy to provide you with your desired stone in any quality grade.

Optimal proportions: All light is perfectly captured and reflected.

Too deep : light is lost through the sides.

Too shallow : light is lost through the girdle facets
