Jewelry with lab diamonds from Pukka Berlin

The process of creating your lab diamond

We create your laboratory diamond by imitating the natural growth process of a diamond in a CO2-neutral and fair way using the CVD process (chemical vapor deposition). To do this, the seed of a natural diamond is cultivated in the laboratory over a period of four to six weeks until a rough diamond is created. This has the same chemical, optical and physical structure as natural diamonds and often has a better diamond quality than the majority of diamonds used in the jewelry industry. Finally, your laboratory diamond is carefully cut and polished by hand in our own production facility and evaluated and certified according to strict quality controls. Only then is it set in recycled gold, silver or platinum. Your new favorite piece is ready!

The advantages of your lab grown diamond

Lab diamonds are particularly impressive due to the following three aspects. Firstly, they are produced in a carbon-neutral way at Pukka Berlin, which makes them a sustainable alternative to natural diamonds. Machine production also ensures that the diamonds are more traceable and therefore fairer, which is also helped by a small nano-label that each diamond receives during the manufacturing process. Above all, however, lab diamonds tend to be cheaper than natural diamonds - by up to 40% depending on the number of carats and quality. However, there is no cut in terms of their quality and brilliance, which makes them a popular option for wedding and engagement rings, as well as special everyday pieces!

frequently asked questions

Lab diamonds are in no way inferior to natural diamonds. They have the same physical properties so that a diamond tester will not notice any difference. Due to their controlled creation, they often look even better than natural diamonds.

We use the CVD (chemical vapor deposition) process for our lab-grown diamonds. This involves growing a rough diamond over a period of 4-6 weeks using a natural diamond seed. This has the same structure (type 2a) as the majority of diamonds used in the jewelry industry.

Lab diamonds tend to be cheaper than natural diamonds. Especially with a higher carat count of up to 40%. However, while natural diamonds have a fairly stable price due to their rarity, the price development of rennet diamonds is difficult to predict.

Because they are created in a controlled environment, the entire supply chain of the lab diamonds can be transparently demonstrated. In addition to their fair origin, they are also a sustainable alternative to natural diamonds, as they are cultivated in a CO2-neutral way at Pukka Berlin.

Our lab-grown diamonds have a quality of VS | F+. You can find out more about the four Cs of diamonds in our diamond guide.
