Our tips for the perfect engagement ring

When buying an engagement ring, there are a few things to consider and, in our experience, many unanswered questions. On which hand is the ring worn? Traditionally, the engagement ring is worn on the ring finger of the left hand. For this reason, you should first find out the ring size of the left ring finger when choosing the perfect engagement ring. To do this, you can borrow one of your partner's rings and have it measured by a jeweler or follow our tips in the blog post on measuring ring sizes. Should I choose white gold, yellow gold, rose gold or platinum? The choice of precious metal is best matched to the color of the rest of your loved one's jewelry to ensure a harmonious and high quality overall look. How big should the diamond be? The size of the diamond depends heavily on your budget and taste. While 0.33-0.75 ct is particularly suitable for simple and timeless elegance and rings with a diamond ring or shank, 1-4 carats make a real statement. Which cut should I choose? You should also adapt the cut or shape of your gemstone to your partner's preferences. While round, oval and pear cut diamond rings go well with classic characters, the princess, emerald and radiant cut stone comes with a touch of special modernity.

Buy engagement rings online with virtual consultation in advance

Deciding on an engagement ring can be a very challenging task, especially nowadays with so much choice. We see it as our job to help you find the perfect sustainable engagement ring regardless of your budget. Our advice: take your time, ask siblings, parents or friends and above all: take advantage of our free service of a personal consultation online or in person. Here, we will advise you on the various options for your piece of jewelry, such as the design or the four Cs of the diamond, i.e. carat, colour, cut and clarity. You also have the opportunity to custom design and personalize proposal rings according to your own ideas. The personalized ring is then handmade for you in our own manufactory in Bombay. We therefore recommend that you make your decision in good time and order the engagement ring at least six weeks before you need it. The engagement ring is classically more opulent than the wedding ring, as it is usually a solitaire ring with a central diamond. Wedding rings, on the other hand, are usually worn as a band without stones or as a diamond band with several diamonds. However, you can of course also wear a diamond band as an engagement ring. Fortunately, nowadays the only limits are the ones you set yourself.

We recommend that you think about your engagement ring early on. After all, it is a sparkling symbol of love that heralds your life together. We recommend starting your search three months before the engagement. You should order your engagement ring at least six weeks beforehand. We will of course be happy to advise you. 

On the one hand, we use certified and fully recycled 14 and 18 karat gold, as well as proportionally recycled 950 platinum for our rings. In addition to natural diamonds, you can also choose CO2-neutral lab grown diamonds. We use the most efficient processes for the production of our engagement rings in order to achieve our goal of a CO2-neutral manufacturing process. Finally, the ring is delivered with GoGreen shipping from Deutsche Post. 

The easiest way would be to look in an existing ring of the finger in question. Alternatively, we offer some practical tips in our ring size guide. In addition, almost all engagement rings can be resized free of charge. You can see whether a particular ring is eligible for resizing by going to the respective product and reading the small text above the shopping cart button.

Many people have certain expectations of the engagement ring. It is therefore worth asking your mother or best friend about their preferences. If the ring does not suit your partner, we can make small changes to the ring you have already purchased. If the ring has not been engraved, you can also exchange it. 

If the proposal ring is to be worn parallel to the wedding ring as a wedding band, then both rings should be coordinated. However, a mix of materials can also be exciting, as classic engagement rings with diamonds go with almost anything. And even if the rings are worn on different hands, different styles and accents can be created. Another option would be to wear the engagement ring as a pendant on a chain around the neck.
