Kollektion
Bauhaus
Our Bauhaus collection is inspired by the German Bauhaus movement of the 1920s. Our Bauhaus jewelry seeks to level the distinction between the fine and applied arts and reunite manufacturing and creativity. This collection provides delicate, translucent geometric shapes that translate into elegant and easy to wear shapes. Our Bauhaus collection uses a lot of Ceramic, which was a common element during the period. Our Bauhaus jewelry is best described as seductive minimalism.
History of the Bauhaus movement
The German art school "Staatliches Bauhaus" was founded in 1919 by Walter Gropius and was located in Weimar (1919-1925), Dessau (1925-1932) and Berlin until 1933. In that year, the school was closed under pressure from the National Socialists. This devastating end also marked the beginning of the worldwide spread of the Bauhaus movement's ideas, as many of the artists emigrated. As a result, the design ideas had a major impact on modern architecture and design today. Faced with the fear of the facelessness of modern production in the late 19th century, the artists of the movement, including Mies van der Rohe, Klee and Kandinsky, attempted to unite the principles of mass production and individual artistic vision. Line, form and color were at the heart of their work.
