Forward helix piercing

Helix piercings are so named because they are pierced on the helix, the cartilage border of the ear. Any randomly placed piercing on this edge of the ear is therefore a helix. A forward helix is placed at the beginning of the helical fold, i.e. close to the head and directly above the tragus. Due to this position, the healing time can take a little longer than with a simple lobe piercing, for example. You should make sure that you do not irritate the fresh piercing too much, especially when showering and sleeping. It can also be a little more difficult to change the jewelry as the clasp is in the cartilage fold and not behind the ear. Did you know?
