The first cleaning method we would like to introduce to you is very simple. All you need is a bowl, warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft toothbrush. And off you go!

Step 1: Mix water and detergent
First pour warm water (not hot) with a few drops of washing-up liquid into the bowl and mix the two together.

Step 2: Pull the jewelry
Now place your dirty silver jewelry in it and leave it there for a few minutes. If the silver is particularly tarnished, you can leave it in for longer.

Step 3: Treat silver with a brush
To really remove all dirt, you can now gently scrub your jewelry with a clean toothbrush.

Step 4: Rinse silver jewelry
Now rinse your jewelry with lukewarm water.

Step 5: Dry the jewelry
Finally, you can dry and polish your silver with a cloth. Et violà, the shine is back!
Baking powder or baking soda against tarnished silver
With the next method, you can easily clean not only sterling silver, but also nickel-based silver and silver-plated jewelry.
For this method, you will need a bowl, two tablespoons of baking soda or baking powder, a soft toothbrush and warm water. Caution: Please do not use this method on jewelry with enamel, gemstones or pearls!
First, put about two tablespoons of baking soda or baking powder in the bowl and add water until a solid paste is formed. For even more thorough cleaning, you can add a little salt and washing-up liquid to nickel-based silver and sterling silver. You can now either leave your silver to soak in the paste or apply it to the jewelry with a soft brush and massage it in.

Step 4: Drying the jewelry
Now take the jewelry out of the bowl and dry it with a soft cloth. You can also polish the silver with a microfiber cloth. That's it!
Cleaning silver jewelry with toothpaste
